Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and why you began your fitness journey?
A: I have been working from home for almost 10 years , I came to USA when I was 16 yrs old , I love outdoors , I have 4 girls 19-17-16-6 and a boy 2 yrs
I started running before baby number 5, and I was ok. When I was in the Hospital I found out I was 203 pounds, 8 weeks after I had him, I saw myself in a big mirror, all my body, I was so disappointed of my body, I had huge hips, I felt terrible , I started to run again and had a knee pain so I had to stopped for 2 weeks. Now, I have lost total of 58 pounds, me and my husband went to try crossfit and I fell in love with lifting , I did it for 4 months, it gave me the discipline to workout by myself.
Q: How did you get to where you are now and why?
A: Discipline to eat what my body needs not what I like, 80% nutrition 20% exercise, no excuses, not listening at the little voice when says you can't, and why? because I love myself and I have 5 kids and whatever I do they will follow, I want to age healthy and inspire others to do the same.
Q: What is your ultimate goal?
A: My goal is to put my body fat at 26 % and I want to have more defined abs.
Q: What does the term "embrace your journey" mean to you?
A: "Embrace your journey" means to me enjoying the progress of my body, inspiring others, when people told me they start to run or workout because I help them to believe they can, that's priceless.
Q: Who/What are your biggest inspirations and why?
A: My biggest inspiration is Karla [that's me!], how I want to see myself when she turns 60, and why? If I am not ok, nobody around me will be, I tell my family: "I take care myself for you, you take yourself from me" ~ Jim Rohn
Q: What is your process for tackling a challenge and the hard days?
A: When I feel like not doing nothing anymore, I see my before pictures and how far I've come, I don't think to much, I just do it. I love listening to Eric Thomas, Jim Rohn, Les Brown, they help me to get back on track.
Q: A piece of advice you'd like to give others on their fitness journey?
A: Think what you want, be clear on what you want not what you think you can or can't do, get mad at yourself, for me is like if I had the pain to be in labor with my 5 kids and after that pain I have the best moment of my life, I can have the pain of transformation of my body, it won't be easy, it will be difficult sometimes, but I guarantee your life will be easier, happier and others will follow, believe in yourself.
